Linda Svendsen (she/her) is a fiction and television writer living on the unceded and unsurrendered land of the Halkomelem speaking peoples ("New Westminster"). She is a Professor at the UBC School of Creative Writing.​

Linda was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006.

​

Additionally, her work has received support from the Wallace Stegner Fellowship (Stanford University), the Bunting Fellowship (Radcliffe), two National Endowment for the Arts Awards in Fiction, and a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.

Her short fiction has appeared in The Atlantic, Best Canadian Stories, O. Henry Prize Stories, and The Norton Anthology of Short Fiction, among others.
​
